The much-awaited romantic drama Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, is all set to hit theatres on July 25. Directed by Pandiraj, the film promises a rugged love story centered around a cook-and-foodie couple â Agasaveeran (played by Vijay Sethupathi) and Perarasi (played by Nithya Menen).A glimpse of the film was released on Sunday, introducing not only the lead characters but also a vibrant supporting cast. Yogi Babu plays Chitthirai, Chemban Vinod Jose appears as Arasangam, Saravanan as Sembaiyya, and Kaali Venkat as Amarasigamani. The ensemble cast also includes RK Suresh, Mynaa Nandhini, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan, and Sendrayan. The film marks Vijay Sethupathiâs 52nd outing and is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films.
The music, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, has already stirred excitement with the release of the first single, Pottala Muttaye. The song, sung by Santhosh himself and Subhlashini (famous for Golden Sparrow), is penned by lyricist Vivek. The music video blends film visuals and animated segments. Thalaivan Thalaivii reunites Vijay and Nithya after their 2022 Malayalam film 19(1)(a). The film also boasts a strong technical crew with M Sukumar handling cinematography and Pradeep E Ragav as the editor.
