Tiruchendur, July 5: In view of the eighth consecration (Kudamuzhukku) ceremony of Lord Subramania Swamy at the famous Tiruchendur temple, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) – Tirunelveli Division will operate special bus services from July 5 (Saturday) to July 8 (Tuesday).
The consecration ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 7. Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Murugar, is also the fourth Hindu temple in Tamil Nadu to receive ISI certification.
A press release was issued by Tirunelveli District Collector Mr. Illambhagavat and TNSTC (Tirunelveli Division) Managing Director Mr. S. Natarajan announcing these arrangements.
Around 6000 special buses will be operated in addition to the regular services. Buses will run from major cities like Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem, Madurai, Rameswaram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, and others to Tiruchendur.
To manage the large crowd, three temporary bus stands have been set up in Tiruchendur:
Vettaivelimadam (Tirunelveli Road): Buses to Tirunelveli, Papanasam, Tenkasi, Surandai, Sankarankoil, and Rajapalayam will depart from here.
Opposite to P. Sivanthi Adithanar Manimandapam (Thoothukudi Road): Buses will go to Thoothukudi, Kovilpatti, Rameswaram, Aruppukottai, Vilathikulam, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Trichy, Chennai, and Salem.
Theppakulam (Kanyakumari–Nagercoil Road): Services will be available to Sathankulam, Vediyaanvilai, Valliyur, Nagercoil, and Kanniyakumari.
Additionally, out of 30 special buses, 10 buses each from the above three temporary stands will provide direct services to the Tiruchendur temple gate for the convenience of devotees.
These arrangements aim to ensure smooth and safe travel for thousands of pilgrims expected to attend the sacred event.
