Ajithkumar, a temporary guard at Madappuram Badrakaliamman temple near Thiruppuvanam, was beaten to death by police over a theft complaint. His death caused shock across Tamil Nadu. A video of police hitting him with pipes went viral, adding to the anger.
The postmortem found 44 injuries on his body, leaving even judges shocked. Six policemen—Prabhu, Kannan, Shankar Manikandan, Raja, Anand, and Ramachandran—were suspended and later arrested.
Now, Ajith’s brother Naveen Kumar, who earlier claimed he too was assaulted by police, has been admitted to Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital’s ICU due to health issues.
His uncle said Naveen had leg pain caused by the assault. After receiving treatment, he returned home.
