Chief Minister and DMK leader M.K. Stalin has asked all zonal chairpersons of the Madurai Corporation to resign right away. This order comes soon after the party removed Mayor Indirani’s husband, Pon Vasanth, from the DMK.Pon Vasanth was suspended on May 29. He had interfered in Corporation work many times. His actions caused trouble for the party and became a big issue before the assembly elections.
While speaking at the ‘Udanpiraippey Vaa’ programme, Stalin gave a strong warning. He said anyone who goes against party rules will be removed from their post. Stalin’s message was clear — discipline in the party comes first.
This move is seen as part of a clean-up drive to maintain order within the DMK before important elections.
