Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder Dr. S. Ramadoss has asserted that any alliance that includes the PMK will achieve a significant electoral victory—one larger than ever before.
Speaking to the media after inspecting preparations for the upcoming Vanniyar Women’s Conference at Poompuhar, Mayiladuthurai district, scheduled for August 10, Ramadoss expressed confidence in the party’s strength and the clarity among its cadres.
“The PMK has held such grand events in Poompuhar 13 times in the past. After a short gap, we are now organizing another women-centric conference to celebrate the power and pride of womanhood. It is being planned as a historically significant event,” he said. On the subject of temple lands, he stated that if temple-owned lands are vast, there is nothing wrong in using a portion for educational purposes.
Dismissing speculation of internal confusion, Ramadoss said, “There is no confusion within PMK. The party is united and strong.” When asked whether party leader Anbumani Ramadoss would attend the conference, he replied cryptically with a lyric, “We’ll know as things progress.”
On whether the PMK would ally with the DMK, he gave a witty response: “Ten crows flew by… five of them were white crows—I think that gives you the answer,” he said with a smile, leaving the room amused and curious.
