AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) firmly declared that the AIADMK would lead any alliance in the upcoming elections and asserted that his word would be final when it comes to decision-making.

Speaking at a meeting with farmers in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district, EPS said, “It was the AIADMK government that brought in several beneficial schemes for farmers. Many of these have now been stopped under the DMK rule. The AIADMK government was responsible for facilitating sugarcane procurement and will resolve ongoing issues in online paddy procurement.”

Later, while addressing the media, EPS responded strongly to a question about Union Minister Amit Shah’s repeated comments on alliance governance. “There is no coalition government. He only said that the alliance will form the government. You have misunderstood. Let me make it clear again — the AIADMK will lead the alliance, I will make the decisions, and therefore, I will be the Chief Minister. The AIADMK will form the government with a clear majority. There’s no ambiguity here,” EPS stated.

He also dismissed media speculation about internal rifts within the alliance. “You keep digging for some sensational news, hoping there is a crack. But our alliance is strong and united. The AIADMK will win big and form a majority government,” he added confidently.

Responding to a question about PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss demanding a cabinet berth if his party joins the alliance, EPS replied sharply: “Let’s see if they join first. He’s not even part of the team yet. If he says his symbol is a torn leaf, what can I do? We haven’t even made him sit on the bench.”
