Thol. Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), has asserted that any third front or alliance attempting to emerge in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape will have no significant impact on the upcoming elections. His remarks were made during a press conference in Chennai.According to Thirumavalavan, the electorate’s focus in Tamil Nadu remains firmly divided between the two dominant political alliances: the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) alliance. He stressed that any coalition formed outside of these established major parties is unlikely to achieve success.
He further elaborated on his stance by highlighting historical precedents, noting that a third front has consistently failed to make a substantial impact at both central and state levels across India. This historical observation, he believes, reinforces the unlikelihood of a new alliance disrupting the established bipolar political structure in Tamil Nadu.
