He highlighted a particularly disturbing report from Namakkal district, where impoverished laborers are allegedly being targeted, their kidneys harvested for as little as 3 lakh rupees, capitalizing on their vulnerable economic status.Selvaperunthagai emphasized that the sale of human organs, particularly kidneys, represents a severe degradation of human rights. While acknowledging the legality of organ donation, he firmly stated that engaging in such activities for commercial gain constitutes a criminal offense. He urged the Tamil Nadu government, police authorities, and medical institutions to undertake immediate and coordinated efforts to eradicate this unethical and illicit practice.
