The Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway project has been delayed and is now expected to be completed by December 2025.Officials said that unexpected rains and delays in getting clearances—especially at the Sriperumbudur trumpet interchange area—have slowed down the work. This part of the project still needs approvals related to land and the environment.
Once these issues are cleared, the final stretch of the expressway can be completed. The road, once ready, will significantly reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai.
