Kanchipuram, July 28 Ā PMK president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has accused the ruling DMK government of protecting drug dealers in Tamil Nadu. Speaking during his āUrimai Meetpu Payanamā campaign in Kanchipuram, he claimed that the drug menace is spreading fast across the state, especially near schools and colleges.Anbumani alleged that even when the police arrest drug traffickers, DMK leaders make phone calls to get them released. He cited the case of Zaber Sadiq, who was reportedly involved in a ā¹3,000 crore drug case, but was allegedly released due to political pressure.
He questioned whether the police department was working for the government or directly under the Chief Minister. He warned the public not to give another chance to the DMK, saying that the future of Tamil Nadu would be at risk if the party remains in power.
These remarks come at a time when PMK is also facing internal leadership issues, with party founder S. Ramadoss and Anbumani having differences over control.
