New Delhi, Aug 9: Union Minister Piyush Goyal said India will not bow to any country. He was speaking at the Business Today India@100 Summit. His remarks came after the US decided to impose an extra 25% tariff on Indian goods over India’s continued purchase of Russian oil.
Goyal said India is now stronger and more confident. The economy is growing at 6.5% a year and will grow faster.
He rejected the idea of “deglobalisation”. He said countries are only changing their trade partners and routes.
The minister said India will export more this year than last year. He added that steps are in place to face trade barriers.
He also said the government is working to boost manufacturing, improve infrastructure, and attract more investment. These moves will help India become a bigger player in global trade.
