The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) held a special general council meeting on Sunday under the leadership of party founder Dr. S. Ramadoss. During the session, 37 resolutions were passed.In a significant decision, the council resolved that Dr. Ramadoss will function as both the Founder and Leader of the PMK. His elder daughter Gandhimathi and grandson Mukundan were also given space on the dais during the meeting.
The key resolutions included:
Dr. Ramadoss has been given full authority to decide on alliances for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The party will once again launch agitations demanding implementation of the 10.5% internal reservation for Vanniyars in education and employment, which was legislated but not enforced.
The Tamil Nadu government must conduct a caste-wise population census without delay.
The party’s election symbol, candidate applications, and related documents will bear the signature of the founder.
With these resolutions, the PMK has reinforced the leadership role of its founder, giving him full control over key party decisions ahead of the 2026 elections.
