Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan has appealed to Members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu to support the NDA’s Vice-Presidential candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan in the election scheduled for September 9.Speaking to reporters at Chennai airport, Vasan said he would be travelling to Delhi to cast his vote. He added that as a Tamil, Radhakrishnan’s victory would be a matter of pride for Tamil Nadu and urged all MPs to vote according to their conscience.
Vasan also reiterated his support for the AIADMK-led alliance in the state. He said the NDA government at the Centre and the AIADMK-led front in Tamil Nadu had worked well together and called for unity among parties that oppose the DMK.
Commenting on Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s foreign tours, Vasan said there was no white paper or review to show the benefits of such visits. With Assembly elections just six months away, he questioned what impact those trips would have.
