Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam (OPS) on Wednesday said he does not have any specific demand to return to the BJP-led NDA.
This is different from AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran, who recently said he would rejoin the NDA only if AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) is not declared the Chief Minister candidate for 2026.
Speaking to reporters in Madurai, OPS said his main goal is to see a united AIADMK. He described Dhinakaranâs demand as a âgood and strong opinionâ but added, âI have not placed any demand.â
OPS also expressed confidence in senior AIADMK leader K.A. Sengottaiyanâs efforts to bring unity in the party. He said he has not received any official invitation from BJP to rejoin the NDA.
He noted that six court cases related to his âdharmayuthamâ are still pending. âWe will decide at the right time after these matters are resolved,â he said.
OPS dismissed talk that BJP is taking advantage of AIADMKâs divisions. On election prospects, he said, âWait and see.â
