New politicians always criticise DMK to get recognised: Kanimozhi

Kanyakumari, Sept 16: On the 117th birthday of Perarignar Anna, DMK’s Deputy General Secretary and MP Kanimozhi paid respects at his statue in Kanyakumari.

Reporters asked her why newer politicians always seem to attack the DMK. Kanimozhi replied that when someone enters politics, criticizing the DMK gives them a kind of identity.

She said that talking about DMK is like a shortcut for politicians to get noticed.

Kanimozhi called Anna a great leader who changed Tamil Nadu’s political thinking. She said the DMK is the party through which Anna’s ideas continue.

Those present at the event included Minister Mano Thangaraj, Mayor Mahesh, Agasteeswaram South Union DMK Secretary Babu, and Kanyakumari municipal chairman Kumari Stephen among others.
