New stoppages for Chennai–Sengottai Express

Southern Railway has announced that the Dr MGR Chennai Central–Sengottai Weekly Express Special (Train Nos. 06121/06122) will get five new stoppages from September 24 (Chennai departure) and September 25 (Sengottai departure).
The train, which runs once a week, will now halt at Cheran Mahadevi, Kallidaikurichi, Ambasamudram, Kila Kadaiyam, and Pavurchatram, in addition to its major halts at Tirunelveli and Tenkasi.
Timings:
From Chennai: Departs Wednesday 3:10 pm, reaches Sengottai Thursday 6:30 am.
From Sengottai: Departs Thursday 9:00 pm, reaches Chennai Friday 11:30 am.
Officials said the additional halts were introduced in response to passenger demand from the Tirunelveli and Tenkasi regions.
Meanwhile, due to engineering works on the Chennai Central–Gudur section on September 18 between 12:30 pm and 7:00 pm, Southern Railway has announced service changes:
Train 66042 Sullurupeta–MMC MEMU will be cancelled; a passenger special will be operated instead.
Train 42419 MMC–Sullurupeta local (2:30 pm) will run only up to Elavur.
Train 42804 Sullurupeta–Chennai Beach local (5:20 pm) will start from Elavur.
Passengers are advised to check the revised schedules before planning their travel.
