Dr. V. Mohan, Chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, has been awarded the first-ever EASD Diabetes Global Impact Prize 2025 by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) in Vienna.Recognized for his four decades of contributions in diabetes research, care, and education, Dr. Mohan has published over 1,800 papers, led India’s largest national diabetes study (ICMR INDIAB), and trained thousands of healthcare professionals. He has also conducted over 25,000 free diabetes camps and developed the Chunampet Rural Diabetes Prevention model, benefiting millions in India.
Dr. Mohan called the award a recognition for India and his colleagues, reinforcing his mission to improve diabetes care worldwide.
