The Tamil Nadu government has announced that more than 1,370 special buses will be operated to handle the heavy rush of passengers during the Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadasami holidays on October 1 and 2.According to transport officials, additional services will run from Chennai and other major cities to different parts of the state. From Kilambakkam, 885 buses will be operated to Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, and other southern districts. From Koyambedu, 185 buses will leave for Thiruvannamalai, Vellore, and nearby towns. In addition, 300 special buses will be operated from Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, and other important cities.
The move is aimed at ensuring smooth travel for the public during the festive season, as thousands are expected to return to their native places. Authorities have said that adequate arrangements have been made at bus stands to manage passenger flow.
