Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has announced a 20% Diwali bonus and ex-gratia for ‘C’ and ‘D’ category employees in all state-run Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). This decision aims to recognize the contributions of lower-category workers ahead of the festive season.The bonus comprises an 8.33% statutory bonus and an 11.67% ex-gratia, totaling 20% of the employees’ annual wages. Permanent workers eligible for overtime pay will receive a minimum of ā¹8,400 and up to ā¹16,800, depending on their earnings. Temporary workers in the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation will receive a one-time ex-gratia payment of ā¹3,000.
A total of 2,69,439 employees across various PSUs, including the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, State Transport Corporations, and the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, will benefit from this announcement. The government has allocated ā¹376.01 crore for the disbursement of these bonuses and ex-gratia payments.
