Tamil Nadu Transport Minister Siva Sankar announced that 20,376 special buses will operate across the state for the Deepavali festival.The services will run from October 16 to 19, with 14,268 buses from Chennai to various districts and 10,529 buses for the return journey after the festival.
Special monitoring teams will be stationed at key bus termini like Koyambedu, Tambaram, and Madhavaram to ensure smooth operations.
Deepavali falls on October 20, and the minister said all steps are being taken to help people travel safely and conveniently to their hometowns.
