TVK flag flies at AIADMK rally, EPS hints at alliance

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) flag was prominently displayed at an AIADMK rally in Channarapalayam, signaling potential collaboration ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Addressing the gathering, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) said, “While alliances are necessary, the stronger alliance will be the one formed under AIADMK’s leadership.”

EPS emphasized the strength of the AIADMK-led coalition, contrasting it with what he termed the “weak alliance” led by the DMK. The rally highlighted AIADMK’s outreach strategy to consolidate opposition forces and indicated a possible political partnership with actor-turned-politician Vijay’s TVK, whose support base could influence the electoral dynamics in the state.

Political analysts note that the success of any AIADMK-TVK alliance will hinge on negotiations and alignment of objectives between the two parties. With the 2026 elections approaching, these early signals of collaboration reflect AIADMK’s proactive efforts to strengthen its position against the ruling DMK.
