Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin described his government’s Dravidian model as the “Golden Age” for sports in the state, speaking at the closing ceremony of the Chief Minister’s Trophy 2025.He highlighted how Tamil Nadu has excelled in hosting high-quality competitions, recognized talented athletes, and allocated generous prize money—the state awarded ₹37 crore as prizes this year alone. Winners also receive scholarships, employment opportunities, and various recognitions.
Stalin emphasized that compared to previous governments, the current administration has made historic investments in sports infrastructure and athlete development. Tamil Nadu athletes continue to achieve success at national and international levels, backed by strong training, support, and innovative programs to identify and nurture talent at all stages.
He affirmed that no other state has done as much for the growth and welfare of sports and athletes as Tamil Nadu under this rule.
