A low-pressure area has formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department. This weather system is likely to intensify into a depression within 36 hours.
Due to this development, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to experience widespread rainfall with thunder and lightning until October 24, with moderate to heavy rain in several places.
Meanwhile, a deep depression present over the Arabian Sea is also expected to strengthen into a low-pressure zone within 24 hours. Overall, the northeast monsoon activity has intensified across Tamil Nadu and southern Kerala, supported by lower atmospheric circulation over the Kumari Sea and adjoining regions.
