Tamil Nadu Governor Thiru R.N. Ravi on Saturday felicitated 34 distinguished individuals from various walks of life during the Foundation Day celebrations of several States and Union Territories at Bharathiar Mandapam, Raj Bhavan, in Chennai. The celebration marked the Foundation Days of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Jammu & Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, and Ladakh. The Governor honoured achievers hailing from these States and Union Territories who are now settled in Tamil Nadu and have been contributing meaningfully to the social and developmental growth of the State through their dedicated services in diverse fields such as education, healthcare, arts, public service, and entrepreneurship. Addressing the gathering, Governor Ravi appreciated the spirit of unity in diversity reflected in Tamil Nadu, which he said continues to be a “mini-India” by embracing people from all regions and backgrounds. He lauded the awardees for their commitment to the welfare and progress of the State and urged them to continue their contributions toward nation-building. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1,000 students and guests, who took part in cultural performances and celebrations showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of the participating States and Union Territories. The Raj Bhavan, decorated with regional motifs and cultural displays, provided a vibrant setting for the occasion, symbolizing the unity, harmony, and shared progress among India’s diverse regions.
