In a significant political development ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Manoj Pandian, a former AIADMK leader and supporter of O. Panneerselvam, has officially joined the DMK party.
He joined the DMK in the presence of the party chief and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai. Manoj Pandian, who had won the 2001 election from the Thirumangalam Constituency and served as a Lok Sabha member from 2010 to 2016, shifted his allegiance to DMK amid the changing political dynamics in the state.
Speaking to the media after joining DMK, Manoj Pandian expressed his support for M.K. Stalin as the leader protecting Tamil Nadu’s rights. He criticized his former party AIADMK for becoming a subsidiary of the BJP and stated that the party now follows the directives of another political party rather than charting its own path.
He also announced that he would resign from his MLA post later in the evening, signaling his full commitment to his new political journey with the DMK.
These developments add to the evolving political landscape in Tamil Nadu as the elections approach, with Manoj Pandian’s move expected to influence voter sentiment and party dynamics ahead of the polls.
