Manoj Pandian Joins DMK, Resigns from Tamil Nadu Assembly

Expelled AIADMK legislator P H Manoj Pandian from the Alangulam constituency formally joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Tuesday, marking a significant political shift in Tamil Nadu.
On the same day, Manoj Pandian tendered his resignation from the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (TNLA), officially ending his tenure as an MLA.
Accompanied by Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P K Sekarbabu, Pandian met Speaker M Appavu at his chamber in the Secretariat where he handed over his resignation letter.
The Speaker promptly accepted the resignation.Manoj Pandian, a seasoned politician and influential figure in southern Tamil Nadu politics, was elected from the Alangulam Assembly constituency in the 2021 elections on an AIADMK ticket. He was a staunch loyalist of former AIADMK chief O Panneerselvam (OPS), but growing disenchantment with OPS’s leadership and the faction’s declining prospects led him to join the ruling party.
