After the success of the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai and the Kalaignar Memorial Libraries in Trichy and Madurai, the Tamil Nadu government has announced plans to establish three new state-of-the-art libraries in Salem, Tirunelveli, and Cuddalore. Tenders have been invited for the ambitious projects, aimed at strengthening the state’s commitment to education and knowledge sharing. In Salem, the Bharathidasan Memorial Library will be constructed over 75,000 sq. ft. at a cost of ₹74 crore. Tirunelveli will soon have the Quaide Millath Memorial Library, a five-storey facility spread across 70,000 sq. ft., built at ₹69 crore. Meanwhile, the Anjalai Ammal Memorial Library in Cuddalore will rise on a 75,000 sq. ft. campus with an estimated budget of ₹80 crore. These new libraries will not only serve as knowledge hubs but also promote reading habits, digital learning, and research opportunities across Tamil Nadu. With modern infrastructure and inclusive facilities, the initiative reflects the government’s sustained effort to make learning accessible and to nurture a vibrant culture of education statewide. @@@
