The second and final phase of the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections commenced this morning. Voters in 122 constituencies across 20 districts are casting their ballots. This phase features 1,302 candidates, including 136 women, competing in general, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) reserved seats. Over 45,399 polling booths have been established to facilitate a smooth and orderly voting process. Security has been bolstered significantly, with more than 500 companies of central armed police forces deployed throughout the state to ensure peaceful polling. The constituencies voting today include key political battlegrounds in regions such as Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Purnia.
