Ravikumar, the General Secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Member of Parliament, has stated clearly that VCK will not seek or expect a share in the government in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Speaking at an event in Viluppuram where he inaugurated a library building, Ravikumar addressed questions regarding VCK’s role in the next state government under the DMK alliance. According to Ravikumar:Since its inception, VCK has always expressed the goal of participating in governance and wielding power. However, for the 2026 elections, VCK does not see an opportunity to demand a share in power. He anticipates that the DMK will form the government with a clear majority. VCK contested six seats in the last election and won four.In the 2026 elections, he expects the DMK to allocate seats to VCK through a dual-seat strategy within the alliance. Ravikumar emphasized that VCKās hunger for political power remains but that the timing is not right for requesting ministerial or governance roles in this election cycle. Instead, VCK will focus on strengthening the alliance with DMK and contributing to the allianceās electoral success. He expressed confidence that the DMK will secure a decisive victory, allowing the formation of a stable government. @@@
