Guwahati, Nov 20: India captain Shubman Gill has suffered a neck injury during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata.  He left the field after facing just three balls and was later admitted to a hospital.
Gill has now traveled with the team to Guwahati for the second Test, but his fitness remains uncertain.  He wants to play, but the final decision on his participation will be made closer to the match.
Doctors are keeping a close watch on him.  If he can’t play, Rishabh Pant may lead the team in his place.
