In view of heavy public demand, the Registration Department has announced that additional reservation booths will be set up in all Sub-Registrar Offices on the auspicious day of Karthigai, November 27.A press release from the department noted that document registrations see a sharp rise on auspicious days. To handle the increased footfall, more booths are being arranged for public convenience.
The revised allocation is as follows:
Offices with one Sub-Registrar: 150 booths instead of 100
Offices with two Sub-Registrars: 300 booths instead of 200
High-volume offices: 150 ordinary reservation slots instead of 100
In addition, four more Tatkal booking tickets will be issued, raising the total from 12 to 16.
The move is expected to ease crowding, reduce waiting time, and ensure smoother service for the public.
