Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has reportedly revived discussions for his long-cherished sci-fi action film Irumbu Kai Mayavi, approaching Telugu superstar Allu Arjun to lead the project.
Originally planned with Suriya and later considered for Aamir Khan, the script narrates the tale of a scientist gaining superpowers from a prosthetic steel hand after an accident, turning him into a vigilante whose iron hand remains visible while invisible.
Allu Arjun has heard the story and shown interest, though no official confirmation has emerged yet.
The Pushpa star is currently immersed in Atlee’s high-budget AA22xA6, backed by Sun Pictures, where he reportedly portrays four roles within one family alongside Deepika Padukone . This marks Allu Arjun’s first outing with Atlee, promising a visual spectacle blending action and drama.
His commitments may delay a final nod on Irumbu Kai Mayavi, fueling fan anticipation for this pan-Indian collaboration.
Lokesh Kanagaraj recently helmed Coolie with Rajinikanth and has clarified that Irumbu Kai Mayavi diverges from gangster tropes into fresh action territory. He has kicked off pre-production for his seventh directorial, rumored as a Telugu venture, while preparing his acting debut in Arun Matheswaran’s DC, produced by Sun Pictures with Wamiqa Gabbi.
