Appealing to people to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi on Sunday said that India’s Armed Forces are among the finest in the world, known for their professionalism, valour and unwavering devotion to duty. In his Flag Day message, he bowed in gratitude to the brave men and women who guard the nation’s frontiers and protect its sovereignty. He said the day stands as a reminder of the selfless service, courage and sacrifices that keep the country secure and its people safe.
Highlighting the dedication of the armed forces across challenging terrains — from the icy heights of the Siachen Glacier and the deserts of Rajasthan to the dense forests of the North-East and distant maritime borders — the Governor said the world witnessed their discipline and professionalism during Operation Sindoor. He stated that India’s soldiers, sailors and air warriors acted with precision, courage and strategic clarity, responding only to safeguard innocent lives and maintaining a strong commitment to peace and restraint, even while securing a decisive victory over Pakistan.
As India rises on the global stage, Ravi stressed the importance of strengthening national security through self-reliance in defence under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said the development of indigenous defence technologies honours the sacrifices of the armed forces by equipping them with world-class capabilities. Calling for the spirit of “Samarth Bharat, Saksham Sena,” he urged people to stand with soldiers, veterans, veer naris and their families, and once again appealed to the citizens of Tamil Nadu to contribute wholeheartedly to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
