Police arrested film producer Dinesh Raj in connection with a drug supply racket, following leads from associate producer Sarbudeen, as investigations widen to implicate several supporting actresses in Tamil cinema.
Thirumangalam police initially nabbed Sarbudeen, Srinivasan from Mugappair, and Sarat from Valasaravakkam on November 20, seizing Rs 27.91 lakh from Sarbudeen’s car and 10 grams of OG ganja from Srinivasan’s home. Sarbudeen, former manager to actor Simbu with ties to actors and actresses, underwent intense questioning on drug distribution networks and cinema parties where substances were allegedly used.
The trio remains in judicial custody, with police compiling lists of implicated industry figures. Probes now target specific supporting actresses and potential links to prominent actresses, focusing on who consumed drugs at events.
