About 55,000 new ration cards to be issued soon in TN

The Tamil Nadu government has announced that approximately 55,000 eligible people will soon receive new ration cards, following a review of applications submitted over recent months. Officials said that after field investigations on the applications, arrangements have been made to distribute the new cards to all qualified applicants in the coming days. More than 1,07,910 applications were filed for fresh ration cards. The government noted that all eligible persons among them will be issued cards soon. Residents had earlier complained about delays in printing and issuing ration cards. Authorities said the distribution process has now resumed full-scale to address the backlog. @@@@
