In a stern public statement, PMK founder S. Ramadoss has directed his son Anbumani Ramadoss not to use his (Ramadoss’s) name or image in any of his political communications or documents.Speaking to reporters at his residence in Thailapuram (near Thindivanam), Ramadoss criticised Anbumani’s recent actions — including filing court petitions and representing the party before the Election Commission — without his consent. He said that despite party disputes, he remains the legitimate founder and leader of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), and therefore Anbumani has no right to use his name or photograph.
Ramadoss went so far as to suggest that Anbumani should consider launching a separate political outfit if he wishes to carry on independent political activity. “If necessary,” he said, “he can use only his initials — not my name.”
The statement intensifies the ongoing power struggle within PMK, with both father and son claiming control over party leadership and legitimacy.
