Virudhachalam, Dec 17: Police have registered a case against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman and 15 others after a DMK executive was allegedly attacked during a political event in Virudhachalam, Cuddalore district. The complaint was lodged by the victim, Ranganathan (44), who is a petrol pump owner and serves as the DMK East District Trade Wing organiser.According to the police, the incident took place on December 14 around 7:15 pm during a government employees’ association meeting. Ranganathan alleged that he was assaulted by Seeman and others at the venue. Based on his complaint, the Virudhachalam police have registered a case under four sections of the Indian Penal Code against Seeman and the 15 accused.
In a related development, a separate FIR has also been filed against Ranganathan himself under two IPC sections based on a complaint by the NTK state coordinator Rajavel. This suggests that both sides are being investigated in connection with the clash.
