Union Minister Piyush Goyal, appointed as BJP’s Tamil Nadu election in-charge, will visit Chennai on December 23, 2025, to meet AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and discuss seat-sharing for the 2026 Assembly elections.
Goyal aims to finalize constituency allocations, with BJP targeting around 50 seats in the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Accompanied by joint in-charges Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Muralidhar Rao, the visit will review candidate selections and party preparedness.
Goyal plans to meet PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, DMDK general secretary Premalatha Vijayakant, and leaders from New Justice Party and Indian National Democratic Party to expand the NDA front against DMK.
This follows recent high-level BJP meetings in Chennai assessing organizational strength.
