Salem, Dec 22: Leader of the Opposition and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has strongly criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, accusing it of not fulfilling its election promises and failing to deliver on key commitments made to the people of Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters in Salem, Palaniswami argued that the DMK has fallen short of fulfilling key assurances given in its election manifesto, pointing out that several major promises remain unimplemented even after years in office. He questioned whether schemes such as 150 days of guaranteed work, one of the DMK’s announced commitments, had been effectively delivered as promised.
Palaniswami also highlighted concerns over economic and administrative issues, including the increasing state debt and what he described as the lack of progress on critical development fronts. He stressed that several commitments related to employment, welfare and financial support should be prioritized by the government.
In his remarks, the AIADMK leader reiterated his party’s readiness to welcome allies who share a common objective to defeat the DMK. Palaniswami underscored the need for alternative leadership, suggesting that the current administration had not met people’s expectations since coming to power.
