Ooty, Dec 22: Tamil Nadu’s first dedicated play park for pet dogs has been opened at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty. The park was inaugurated by Nilgiris MP A Raja in the presence of Government Chief Whip K Ramachandran and other officials.
Built at a cost of Rs 42.30 lakh using funds from the Green Tax Processing Scheme, the park features separate play and training equipment for large and small breeds. The aim is to give pet dogs and their owners a special space to exercise and enjoy outdoors in the popular hill station.
Officials also launched a new website where pet owners can register their details, upload photos of their pets and vaccination records, making it easier to keep pet information updated.
The facility is expected to be useful for both local residents and tourists with pets, adding a unique recreational facility to Ooty’s growing list of attractions.
