Two college students died in a tragic road accident near Chengalpet district on Thursday night when their motorcycle was crushed between two government buses, police said.The victims, identified as Lokesh (22) from Namakkal district and Sahit Paran (22) from Vandalur, were both second-year MCA students at a private college in Kattankulathur. They had gone out together and were returning home on their motorcycle.
According to police, the students stopped their bike behind a stationary government bus near the traffic signal after Mahendra City. At that moment, another government bus coming from Tindivanam towards Madavaram rammed into their motorcycle at high speed. The impact forced the bike into the gap between the two buses, crushing it and fatally injuring both students at the scene.
Traffic on the busy route was briefly disrupted as local police and emergency services responded to the crash. The bodies were taken to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem examination, and police are investigating the case, including questioning the bus driver and examining if speed or negligence contributed to the collision.
