Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President K. Selvaperunthagai on Sunday expressed support for the ongoing protest by cleanliness workers, calling on the State government to take immediate steps to address their demands.Speaking to the media after the 140th Foundation Day celebration of the Indian National Congress at Satyamurthy Bhavan, Selvaperunthagai said, “People have every right in a democracy to fight for their rights, and Congress will support all democratic protests.”
He also raised concerns over the electoral process, alleging that “voting machines and the Election Commission appear to be deciding election outcomes,” and described it as a potential threat to democratic principles.
