The Tamil Nadu government has appointed senior IAS officer Satyabrata Sahoo as the new Sports Secretary, ahead of the retirement of the current Sports Secretary Atulya Misra, who is set to retire on December 31.Sahoo, who was serving as the Food Secretary, will now take charge of the Sports department, which functions under the Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
In another administrative change, Kiran Kurala, the Commissioner of the Social Security Scheme, has been appointed as the new Transport Commissioner.
The transfer and appointment are part of the state’s routine bureaucratic reshuffle ahead of the new year.
