The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has rescheduled its Women’s Wing Conference, originally planned for later this month. Party officials announced the change in dates to accommodate broader participation and ensure better organisation of the event amidst the ongoing election preparations in Tamil Nadu.
The conference, which is an important platform for women leaders and grassroots workers of the party, will now be held on January 14 at the Anna Arivalayam headquarters in Chennai. The programme is expected to draw senior DMK leaders, office‑bearers, and activists from across the state.
DMK sources said the change was made after considering logistical requirements and the availability of key office‑holders who will address attendees. The Women’s Wing Conference aims to discuss strategies for strengthening women’s engagement in the party’s activities and expanding outreach ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The event will feature speeches, policy discussions, and recognition of women cadre achievements, reinforcing the DMK’s emphasis on active political participation by women. Party leaders said further details about the conference agenda and speaker lineup will be announced in the coming days.
