Actor-turned-political figure Praveen Chakravarthy has confirmed that he recently met actor-politician Vijay amid growing discussions on political alignments ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

However, Praveen clarified that any formal decisions regarding political alliances will be taken by senior party leadership and not by individual leaders.

In a statement to the media, Praveen acknowledged the meeting and emphasised that the discussion with Vijay was cordial and centred around broader political perspectives.

“Yes, I met Vijay recently. But decisions about alliances and electoral strategy will be finalised by the leadership,” he said, urging supporters and the public to await official announcements from party authorities.

Political analysts say such interactions reflect ongoing efforts by various parties to explore possible coalition arrangements and strengthen their positions ahead of next year’s polls.

Praveen’s remarks underline that while discussions at personal levels may be underway, formal alliance decisions are expected only after consultations at the top leadership level.
