Dravidar Kazhagam leader K.S. Alagiri has said his party is firmly committed to sharing in governmental power following the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Alagiri emphasised that his party wants a meaningful role in governance rather than merely contesting elections.
Alagiri said the party’s resolve is rooted in its long-standing vision to bring greater social justice, equality and development to the state.
He added that Dravidar Kazhagam leaders have been engaging with various political formations in Tamil Nadu and are hopeful of a coalition that can contribute to effective administration after the election results.
“We are determined to share in the power of government and work collaboratively for the welfare of the people,” Alagiri said, indicating the party’s readiness to support and participate in a government that reflects the aspirations of the electorate.
He reiterated that his party would continue discussions with like-minded partners as the political landscape evolves in the run-up to the polls.
