The Greater Chennai Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic diversions at the Pantheon Road‑Aditanar Statue junction in Egmore during peak hours. The changes will be in effect from January 9 to help reduce congestion at the busy five‑road intersection.During morning (8:30 am–11:00 am) and evening (from 5:00 pm) peak hours:
Rukmani Lakshmipathi Salai will operate as a one‑way road from the Pantheon roundabout to Montieth Road junction.
Vehicles coming from Ethiraj Salai junction will be diverted at Montieth Road and take a left towards Pantheon Road.
Vehicles from Montieth Road and Montieth Lane will not be allowed to turn left onto Rukmani Lakshmipathi Salai.
Traffic police have urged drivers to follow the new directions and cooperate with officers to ensure smooth movement. The diversion is part of efforts to manage traffic and reduce delays at key intersections in the city.
