Prabhas all the way

The Raja Saab emerges as an ambitious genre experiment that blends fantasy, humour and drama, anchored firmly by Prabhas’s charismatic screen presence. The film stands out for its attempt to move away from routine commercial templates and offer audiences a visually rich, story-driven experience.
The narrative revolves around a mysterious royal legacy and a protagonist caught between the real and the fantastical worlds. The story unfolds with intrigue, humour and emotional undercurrents, gradually revealing layers of fantasy rooted in folklore and imagination. While the premise is grand, the screenplay keeps the focus on character journeys, ensuring emotional connect alongside spectacle.
Prabhas delivers a committed and refreshing performance, effortlessly balancing charm, vulnerability and comic timing. His willingness to explore a lighter, fantasy-driven role adds novelty and keeps the audience engaged throughout.
The supporting cast complements him well. Nidhhi Agerwal brings grace and emotional depth to her role, lending warmth to the narrative. Malavika Mohanan leaves a strong impression with her screen presence and confidence, while veteran actors in key roles add weight and credibility, especially in emotionally charged and supernatural sequences.
Director Maruthi deserves appreciation for mounting a large-scale fantasy while retaining his trademark humour and emotional simplicity. His storytelling ensures that the film remains accessible even as it explores supernatural elements. Maruthi’s focus on entertainment value, character moments and visual storytelling makes The Raja Saab an engaging theatrical experience.
The film scores high on production design and visuals, with lavish sets and imaginative world-building enhancing the fantasy quotient. The background score effectively elevates key moments, while songs are placed seamlessly within the narrative. The VFX, particularly in crucial fantasy portions, add to the film’s grandeur and cinematic appeal.
The Raja Saab is a visually rich, performance-driven fantasy entertainer that showcases Prabhas in a refreshing avatar and highlights Maruthi’s confidence as a director handling scale and storytelling together. It may not follow conventional paths, but its ambition, strong performances and imaginative world make it a satisfying watch for fans of fantasy-driven cinema.
