The Tamil Nadu government has announced that all TASMAC retail liquor shops and attached bars across the State will remain closed on select public holidays in January and February.According to an official notification, TASMAC outlets will not function on January 16 (Thiruvalluvar Day), January 26 (Republic Day) and February 1 (Vadalur Vallalar Memorial Day). The closure will be applicable to all retail outlets and bars operated by TASMAC throughout Tamil Nadu.
Authorities have instructed shop supervisors and staff to strictly adhere to the holiday schedule. The move is in line with the State government’s annual public holiday calendar and customary practice of closing liquor outlets on major national and social observance days.
Consumers have been advised to take note of the closure dates and plan their purchases accordingly, as no sales will be permitted on the notified days.
