Union Minister Piyush Goyal demanded the immediate removal of Udhayanidhi Stalin from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, asserting that the DMK government has failed to deliver on its promises and maintain good governance.
Addressing the media in Chennai, Goyal said that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s continuing role as Deputy CM is “unjustified” given what he described as poor administrative performance and unfulfilled commitments to the people of the state. He claimed that under the present leadership, issues related to law and order, public welfare and development remain unresolved.
Goyal, who is the BJP’s election in‑charge for Tamil Nadu and a key spokesperson for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state, argued that the demand is rooted in public sentiment and widespread dissatisfaction with the ruling dispensation’s performance.
The BJP leader said that the DMK government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, has failed to implement policies that bring tangible benefits to ordinary citizens, and that accountability should be upheld at the highest levels of administration.
Goyal’s comments are part of escalating.
Meanwhile, Edappadi Palaniswami, reiterated his party’s confidence in its political alliance strategy ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, stating that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is strong at the Centre, the people of Tamil Nadu will usher in AIADMK rule in the state.
Speaking to reporters after hosting Union Minister Piyush Goyal for a breakfast at his residence, EPS highlighted the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s governance at the Centre, asserting that the alliance’s development initiatives have brought stability and progress nationally, and will now be reflected in Tamil Nadu under AIADMK leadership.
With political campaigns intensifying across the state, EPS emphasised that a combined NDA effort is crucial to challenge and replace the current DMK administration led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He expressed confidence that the alliance’s evolving strength will translate into victory in the upcoming polls, promising that AIADMK will form the next state government.
